Top Tips

Preparing the Pizza Pan - I used a textured metal pizza pan, which helps prevent the pizza dough from sticking. As a second measure, I always sprinkle a little extra quinoa flour onto the pan before shaping the dough.

Mixing the Dough - Mix the ingredients until just combined. Overmixing the dough can lead to a dense, tough crust.

Resting the Dough - Those extra 15 minutes allow the quinoa flour to fully hydrate and relax, making it easier to shape the dough.

Shaping the Dough - Use wet hands when shaping the dough to prevent it from sticking to your hands. Rewet your hands as needed.

Quinoa Pizza Topping Ideas

Here are some topping ideas for quinoa crust pizza:

  • Margherita pizza with sliced tomato, basil, and cashew mozzarella.
  • Spinach artichoke pizza with fresh spinach, artichoke hearts, and vegan parmesan cheese.
  • Buffalo ranch pizza with buffalo tempeh and homemade vegan ranch dressing or avocado ranch.
  • Veggie lovers pizza with tomatoes, mushrooms, green peppers, red peppers, onions, black olives, and minced garlic.
  • Pesto pizza with nut-free pesto, sundried tomatoes, and fresh basil leaves.

Storage & Make Ahead Tips

Store quinoa pizza crust fully baked with toppings in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Reheat in an oven or air fryer at 375°F for about 3 to 7 minutes.

I haven't personally experimented with preparing the dough in advance and refrigerating it.

However, if you want to make the crust ahead of time, I suggest partially baking it for 15 minutes, letting it cool completely, wrapping it with plastic wrap, then freezing or refrigerating it.

When you're ready to enjoy your quinoa pizza, add your desired toppings and bake for 10 minutes.
