Variations Ideas
- Chocolate – Substitute milk chocolate for white chocolate chips and you can even use almond bark. You could even drizzle both. This would be delicious and look so pretty.
- Try other types of pretzels. Pretzel sticks or pretzel rods work great too. Just use what you have in the pantry. Sometimes at the holidays, I will use the large rods. You can really use any type of pretzel.
- Toppings – After dipping the pretzels into the chocolate add your favorite toppings. Add sprinkles, chopped candy, candy canes, peanuts and more.
Step by Step Instructions

Step 1 – Place the chocolate chips and vegetable oil in a microwave safe bowl.

Step 2 – Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between each interval until the chocolate is fully melted.

Step 3 – Dip the pretzels into the melted chocolate. Use a fork to coat each pretzel in chocolate. Tap the fork on the side of the bowl until all of the excess chocolate is removed from the pretzel.

Step 4 – Place the pretzels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper. Let the pretzels sit until the chocolate is fully set and then they are ready to serve and enjoy!
Expert Tips
- Oil – I also used canola oil that I had in my pantry but vegetable oil and coconut oil will work great too.
- Baking Sheets – Use baking sheets covered in parchment paper to make cleanup a breeze.
- Melt Chocolate – Melt chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30 second intervals so the chocolate does not burn.
